This painting was done from a very old 1859 photo reference in black and white. It was small and wooden, sitting on a wood pier near the Monroe Harbor. It’s birdcage top perched on a pole houses the whale oil lantern that the keeper kept lit all night. It is apparent that he fished for his supper. I wanted a soft lavender laid back feeling for this and I think it works well. This is the only reference of this lighthouse that I could find and no written material. All prints come with a brief history of the lighthouse and the artist.
Small and larger prints are shipped gently rolled into a postal tube for maximum protection. They do not have mats or frames so recipients may select them to suit their own style.
