Meet the Artist : Anita Saviko

Michigan artist, Anita Saviko, specializes in painting Michigan Lighthouses since 1998. She paints mostly in watercolors, but also most water-based media. Anita researches the history of each light first and then paints the lighthouse. She shares her excitement of discovering old photos and histories that make up each light’s unique personality.

There are 120 plus lights in Michigan waters and another 20 that don’t exist any longer. Her goal is to paint them ALL and share her artist-made prints and cards with you on this website’s online store.
